Friday 5th September was preparation day for Hartley lanes entry into the Rotherham horticultural show.

Despite the continuous torrential rain and some plots being under 2 to 3 inches of water, the show committee did sterling work in their preparation of over 45 different types of fruits and vegetables.

All had to be carefully packed and transported to Clifton park in Rotherham where the local council hold the annual show.

After hours of staging the produce on the allotted stand the show committees efforts were rewarded with second place, narrowly beaten by last years winners, Clifton lane allotments.

This years show committee were:
Allan, Andy, Dave, John and Lorraine.
All of whom deserve a medal for all the hard work they did in such adverse weather conditions, they did Hartley Lane allotments proud.
